Des Kleineibst

Des Kleineibst has been a professional photographer in Cape Town and Johannesburg, South Africa since 1980. A National Diploma in Photography was followed by two years in the Airforce doing national service as a photographer. After assisting 3 of SA's top car photographers he began working in his own right, becoming recognised over the years as one of the best automotive specialists the country has ever seen. In the intervening years he has produced exceptionally fine commercial images for almost every brand of car and truck on the South African market. Based in Cape Town where he shoots on location because of the fantastic range of locations and light, he commutes to Johannesburg to shoot cars in one of his car studios.

Des specialises in motor cars & trucks (automotive) in studio and on location, landscapes, still life and QTVR, working both above-the-line on ads & billboards and below-the-line on brochures and point of sale material. Des co-developed his own carbon-fibre-tracking rig that extends 30 ft (10 metres). A German passport makes for no-hassle European assignments.
