Brita du Plessis

Brita du Plessis, graduated as a graphic designer in 1988, and worked as an art director and designer for 13 years.

Her passion for food led her into the food styling business and after successfully styling a brochure for one of her clients, she moved into this field full time. Her extensive knowledge of the advertising and design business has helped her understand the medium and the brands that she styles for, and her keen eye for graphics helps her look beyond the plate of food.

In the seven years of food styling, Brita has built up a wide range of clients, agencies, magazines and photographers, material ranging from advertising and packaging through to editorial. In addition, she has just completed an exciting cookbook in collaboration with internationally acclaimed food writer, Lannice Snyman and photographer, Malcolm Dare, where she was responsible for the design and food styling of the book. Fruit Art is her third book

Her sunny disposition, design background and creative flair make her a favorite with the top food photographers in Cape Town.
